Why does my anus hurt after pooping?

In a certain period of time most of people has experienced the sense of pain coming from their rectum during or after bowel movement. The types of pain usually include burning, itching and irritation for a day or two. This episode does not always have anything to do with any disease. However, should you feel any type of pain or discomfort during or after bowel movement, the host of your pain should be investigated so you can choose the right treatment to assess the pain.

CAUSES OF PAIN OR BURNING SENSATION IN YOUR ANUS AFTER POOPING

Burning or discomfort sensation that you feel after pooping might be a symptom of several condition such as:

  1. Eating Extreme Spicy Food

The ingredient in chili or any other spicy food called capsicin is the most irritant food. This means, eating this food can give you a ‘hot’ sensation just like what you taste on your tongue after eating them. If this particular ingredient that is causing ‘hotness’ on your tongue is not neutralized, they can travel through your gut and end up in your rectum. This will also cause local irritation and further can lead up to infection in your rectum

  1. Poor Hygiene

Unclean wiping or bathing activities can also cause discomfort in your rectum after a bowel movement. This happens because a dirty anal setting is a very ideal breeding area for bacteria as well as germs and this can cause infection on your rectum as well as itching sensation.

  1. Hemorrhoid

Hemorrhoid is swelling blood vessel condition in your rectum. This particular condition usually caused by several things such as unhealthy lifestyle, chronic constipation as well as diarrhea. The sensation of burning and itching is usually aggravated during bowel movement for patient with hemorrhoid. However, the discomfort might stay within days.

  1. Fecal Incontinence

Burning in the rectum can be considered as symptoms of fecal incontinence. This happens when during bowel control impairment, a small amount of liquid fecal matter pass out the anus with a hard push. This situation might also happen if there is bowel bacteria presence and not removed properly.

  1. Bowel Problem

This will include anal fissures with symptoms that similar to hemorrhoid. Inflammation of bowel lining can also be a cause of burning sensation after bowel movement. This inflammation can also cause chronic constipation as well as diarrhea that might leads to further rectum discomfort.

DISEASE THAT CAN CAUSE BURNING SENSATION AFTER POOPING

If the above points are most likely can be considered as mild condition that is treatable at home, some of the reasons of pain after bowel movement listed below are the ones that might need more serious assessment:

  1. Skin Disease that includes seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, pilonidal cyst, psoriasis.
  2. Infections such as the ones caused by intestinal parasites, candida, strepptococal dermatitis, and fungus.

So after knowing the reasons of discomfort sensation after pooping, there are several things that you can do which involves improving your lifestyle by consuming more fiber as well as drinking more water. Committing more on exercise routine is also a good help to avoid constipation. Taking care of your hygiene is another important steps as it will helps you avoid the infection caused by bad bacteria and germs.
