Causes Of Anal Pain

Anal pain or pain in your bottom or rectum is usually a very disturbing sensation. However, most of the causes of anal pain are minor and they are treatable at home. Constipation is a common outcome of anal pain which can cause a discomfort sensation going to the toilet.

COMMON CAUSES OF ANAL PAIN

There are 3 most common causes of anal pain, they are a pile that contains a blood clot, an anal fissure, and an abscess.

  1. Pile with Blood Clot

Anal pain that is caused by pile with blood clot usually is called hemorrhoid. This situation can be painless such as internal hemorrhoid that only secret blood without pain or external hemorrhoid that is still on early stages.

However, the pain level can be increased when the piles is bulged outside the anus and form a blood clot. This condition still can be healed with home remedies such as ointment or icepacks. But in certain cases, surgery is highly recommended.

  1. Anal Fissure

It is a symptom that is caused by a minor tear in your anus’ skin that can produce a pain like your skin is cut around your rectum setting once you open your bowel. His condition might occur after you are trying to pass a hard stool.

A slight line of blood that appears on your tissue paper after you wipe your bottom can be a sign of anal fissure. This situation is usually heals on its own, however if it is not, applying special ointment is suggested to soothe your ring muscles around your anus.

  1. Anal Abscess

This cause of anal pain will make you feel a throbbing pain that will gets worse every single day. This is a pus filled lump that occurs in your anal canal. If it is the small ones, they usually just causes you discomfort but it can heal by itself by draining naturally or disappear without any treatment.

If the abscess is quite major, the pus inside the abscess might need to be drained. This procedure need small dose of anesthesia and antibiotics to prevent from infections.

OTHER CAUSES OF ANAL PAIN

There are also some reasons of anal pain that less common. However, it is always good to have more knowledge that can help you to make first assessment should they occur to you.

  1. A Bone Related Issue

This will include pain from your tail bone or referred pain from your pelvic, lower back, and hips that is caused by arthritis or bone tumors. If you have history with any of the above disease, seeing your paramedic team once you have anal pain is very recommended to avoid any further discomfort.

  1. An Inflammatory Bowel Disease

If the common cause of anal pain include abscess, inflammation and anal fissures, an inflammatory bowel disease will involves all three of the above. This might cause a person to be in pretty high level of pain and doctor assistance might be needed as well.

  1. Urinary Tract Problem

It is very common that patient with inflammation or infection of the prostate gland or what is called prostatitis to feel anal pain. Patient with this situation will also suffer with fever in addition to the pain on the rectum.

  1. Proctalgia Fugax

This is a fleeting pain that is caused by a patient but with no obvious reason. Diagnose may be made when other causes of pain is clear. So the treatment that can be done is just for relief such as paracetamol as well as a warm bath.

  1. Levator Ani Syndrome

This is a situation where the muscle spam and it happens in short burst and no other symptoms than the pain itself. A muscle relaxant is a good way to heal this syndrome so the anal pain that the patient feel will be reduced.

After understanding all the reasons for anal pain, putting aside all the germs and bad bacteria that can cause infection and all other pain on your anal, one of the most important things to do is keeping your anal clean so that it will not be a breeding setting for all germs and bacteria that lives in and around us.

Consuming a healthier food is also can be a great help to prevent our body in general and our rectum in specific to be infected with any of the above cases of anal pain.
