How To Drain A Cyst With No Head?

March 20, 2017 by Admin2 Leave a Comment

Cysts are, as we know, mostly harmless to the overall health and are usually found on the head, shoulders, neck, chest, and back. Even though they do not hurt, they can get quite uncomfortable and irritating if they grow, and especially if there is no visible head from which you can drain it on your own. Whether it is a huge sebaceous cyst or a cystic pimple, it is not pretty to look at and can actually ruin your day, and, as mentioned before, if the cyst grows in size it can even start to hurt because it presses on the nerves and the tissue that surrounds it.

If you are looking for a way to get rid of the cyst with no head, you are in the right place. There are several ways in which this can be done but bear in mind that mindlessly irritating the cyst can actually do more harm than good, and make matters worse. It can even cause an infection if mistreated, however, with the use of proper techniques, cyst drainage should not be difficult and should result in success. Since these cysts are deeper under the skin, they can hurt unlike regular sebaceous cysts, so removing them can be more difficult. Keep on reading to find the best and easiest ways of draining cysts which have no head.

Topical Creams

Topical creams are useful when it comes to the combat with cysts with no head. They can be easily obtained and if used properly can work wonders. Most of them have anti-inflammatory properties that can calm your skin down, and there are also options which contain salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, both amazing when it comes to battling the cysts and pimples as well.

A good option is to use a face wash that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid as well. These washes can help in the long run, as they clear up the bacteria which causes pimples and cysts. Just make sure to follow the directions on these creams and washes and be careful of the percentage of these acids, as too much of a good thing can also be bad.

Warm Compress

Using a warm compress can help the cyst come to a head faster which will make it easier to drain and heal. To make a warm compress, take a clean washcloth or a cotton ball and soak it in hot water. Squeeze to drain the excess and apply over a cyst, pressing very lightly for a few minutes. This method is completely safe, and you can repeat the whole process three times a day until the cyst comes to a head, at which point you can drain it.

Ice Compress

Just like warm compresses, the ice ones are also quite effective for the treatment of cysts with no head. Ice can help diminish the soreness and reduce the redness of the skin covering the cyst, while at the same time keeping the swelling at bay. You can use simple ice cubes wrapped in a clean washcloth, an ice pack, or even a bag of frozen veggies you need to defrost for lunch. Just apply any of these to the cyst and leave on for about ten minutes several times a day. Note that you should always have a cloth between the ice and skin, as this is how you will prevent further damage.

Tea Tree Oil

One of the natural treatments for cysts is tea tree oil which has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Tea tree oil is great for the reduction of swelling and it does wonders against bacteria. To make this remedy, mix eight or nine drops of water with one drop of tea tree oil. Alternatively, use a carrier oil such as olive or mineral oil instead of water. Another option is to dilute the tea tree oil with aloe vera gel for extra effective results. Then, get a cotton swab or a cotton ball and soak it in this solution and apply to the cyst. Leave it on for about ten minutes, securing the cotton ball with a band aid if you do not want to hold it the whole time. After that, simply rinse the spot with warm water and, optionally, apply an antibacterial topical cream.

A good thing to do before applying tea tree oil remedy is to test for allergies and sensitivity. To do this, apply a drop of tea tree oil to a small patch of skin on the wrist and leave it on for about 15 minutes. If there is no reaction, it means that the oil is safe to use.

Warm Tea Compress

Tea can be very effective for the treatment of cysts with no head, just like warm compresses. Black tea and green tea both contain tannins and anti-inflammatory properties which make them great remedies for conditions such as cysts. You can start by boiling some water and steeping a bag of black or green tea in it. Remove the tea bag and put it over a cyst and leave on for about ten minutes. You can repeat this several times a day for best results.

Honey Remedy

Honey has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and can help heal your skin and fight the bacteria which is clogging it. You can spread raw organic honey directly over the cyst and let it sit for about twenty minutes before rinsing it with water.

Another option is to make a mask with organic honey and apple pulp. Core an apple and combine it with organic honey in a blender to make a paste. Spread over the cyst and let it sit for approximately twenty minutes. Wash off with warm water. Apples are great because they contain malic acid which helps make the skin firmer.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is amazing for skin conditions and for cysts as well, so using it to bring a cyst to a head can be quite effective, especially for people with sensitive skin. Since aloe vera contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it can help reduce the swelling and redness, while simultaneously killing the bacteria which causes these problems. You can use pre-packaged aloe vera gel or a leaf directly from the plant. Simply spread the aloe vera over the cyst and leave it on for about twenty minutes, three to four times a day.

How to Drain a Cyst?

Generally speaking, cutting and draining the cyst by yourself is not recommended, however, if you absolutely must do it, then be prepared. Start with washing the area with soap thoroughly and apply iodine solution such as Dettol with a sterile sponge or sterile cotton swabs. Then, take a sterile blade, manufactured for medical use, and make a small cut. The cut should be smaller than one millimeter, after which you should be able to squeeze the contents of the cyst out. If you fail to remove everything, the cyst will grow back, so if you have decided to do this by yourself, make sure to squeeze everything out.
