  1. Avoid harsh chemical substances while doing armpit hair removal.

The underarms are very delicate. There are many kinds of harsh chemicals which may cause these areas to darken. Therefore, it is better to avoid using hair removal creams with instant effects, as commonly it contains too harsh chemicals for your delicate skin area. Instead, perform underarm hair removal using more natural ingredients, which are not only less toxic, but also more affordable. Here are some suggested ingredients:

  • Sugar which is mixed with water and lemon juice and then simmered until reaching the consistency of a wax. This natural mixture can be used for waxing the underarms. The sugar will grasp your hair and help to remove it when pulled off, while the lemon juice is a great bleaching agent which leaves your armpit skin lightened.
  • Potatoes which is peeled and pulped and then mixed with yellow lentils which have been soaked in water overnight. You can add lemon juice into the mixture to get stronger bleaching effect from potatoes and lemon juice mixture.
  1. Apply gentle moisturizer after each hair removal session.

Hair removal treatments, including waxing and sugaring make your armpit skin dry. Dry skin turns into darker color. Hence, dry armpits commonly look darker than ones which are sufficiently moisturized. Apply natural moisturizers, such as aloe vera for maximized benefits without any cosmetic effects.

  1. Exfoliate armpit skin before performing hair removal treatments.

Darkened armpit skin might be caused by accumulated dead skin cells. Hence, to improve your armpit skin tone, you can try exfoliating the areas before performing hair removal treatment, in order to get rid of dirty dead cells which make the skin darkened. Granule sugar and honey is the perfect natural mixture for exfoliating and improving armpit skin tone. Plus, this mixture is safe to be applied before hair removal, since it has no side effects.

  1. Avoid shaving armpit hair

Shaving armpit hair only cut off the hair just below the surface of the skin. As the result, the skin becomes stubble, which gives an impression of darker skin tone. Hence, remove the hair only using the methods which remove it from the root, instead of only cut it off below the skin surface.

  1. Avoid scratching

If you experience red rashes or bumps after underarm hair removal treatment, do not scratch the skin, as this will make the irritation more severe and as a result, your skin turn darker. If you feel severe itching due to post-waxing irritation, give the skin a warm compress instead of scratching it.

  1. Stop using deodorants after hair removal

Deodorants contain harsh chemicals which in regular application, may result in skin discoloration. Using deodorants after armpit hair removal heighten the chance of getting an irritation, which may cause darkening.

  1. Avoid wearing too tight clothes after hair removal

Tight clothes will cause unnecessary contacts between your treated underarms and the outfits, which do not only add the chance of irritation, but also causing accumulation of sweats and dead skin cells. Loose-fitting outfits which are breathable are advised to wear after you do treatments for armpit hair removal.
