Surgery and laser therapy have been employed as a treatment for gallstones. These low-risk surgeries can help get rid of the gallstones that may cause inhibited urological tract. However, some people are reluctant to undergo these surgeries, although knowing these will help them improve their gallstone-affected gallbladder. These people thus try to search for as much information as possible as to whether or not it is possible to get rid of gallstones without any operation performed.

Determining possible causes

Determining possible causes of gallstones development in your gallbladder is very crucial. This will let you know what you can do not only to get rid of the existing problem but also to prevent it from reoccurring in the future. Eighty percent of gallstones are formed by cholesterol, which is crystallized inside the gallbladder. Bile inside the gallbladder consists mostly cholesterol, which will be used to digest fat in the small intestine. Under certain circumstances the bile sits around the gallbladder, causing cholesterol to be supersaturated into a form of stone known as cholesterol stones.

There are some risk factors for developing gallstones, which are important to know since this will help you find out what you can do to minimize the risk of having your cholesterol crystalized.

  • Prolonged consumption of birth control pills.

These pills contain estrogen, which increases the amount of cholesterol in the bile as well as reduces contracting movements of the gallbladder.

This is because, during reproductive years, women produce plenty of estrogens.

  • Obesity

Obesity that is centered in the abdominal area leads to increased level of cholesterol in the bile, which may trigger the formation of cholesterol stones.

  • Rapid weight loss

Excessive decreasing of the fat amount will reduce the intake of bile for fat digestion. As a result, the bile may sit inside the gallbladder and turn into gallstones.

Removing stones in gallbladder without operation

Although some people possess gallstones in their bladder and develop no symptoms and signs, treating gallstones is essential as this may prevent them from triggering severe conditions, such as blocked gallbladder ducts and gallbladder inflammation. Some methods can be done to help remove gallstones without surgical procedures.

  • Oral bile acids

These are medications that are consumed orally and help to thin bile. When the bile is thinned, this allows gallstones to dissolve properly. You can consume oral bile pills containing ursodiol or chenodiol that help dissolve cholesterol-based gallstones. However, oral bile acid medicines are commonly more effective for those having small gallstones.

  • Lime

Lime can help you get rid of gallstones without surgeries, as it contains acid, which is abrasive to the gallstones. The lime juice that is extracted from one lime every night before sleep will also help regulate cholesterol level in the bloodstream so that crystallized cholesterol can be inhibited. To use this traditional remedy you will need to slice a lime in halves and extract the juice. Fill a glass with warm water and pour the lime juice into the water. Drink immediately and sleep on your right side during the night or at least 30 minutes after drinking the remedy. Check for extracted gallstones in the morning. You can repeat the drinking the remedy once a day or e=once every two days to prevent future formation of the stones.

  • Gallbladder cleansing

In addition to the former two remedies, removing gallstones without surgeries can also be done through gallbladder cleansing, which involves apple juice, olive oil, grapefruit juice, and Epsom salt. This method can be done in two days consecutively to help to pass the stones afterward. Apple juices help soften the stones so that they can pass through the gallbladder ducts harmlessly, while the other ingredients help break these stones down.

When to see a doctor

Although gallstones can possibly be removed without surgeries, it does not mean that resulted symptoms and signs should be ignored. Gallstones that trigger excruciating pain around the flank area should be observed thoroughly and hence, medical help will definitely be required immediately.
