How long does internal hemorrhoid bleed?

Hemorrhoid is a situation where your blood vessel swollen and inflamed in your rectum. This condition might causes you straining during your bowel movement as well as extreme discomfort for some cases of hemorrhoid.

Hemorrhoid is a very common situation for some people with certain condition such as late stages of pregnancy, lack of fiber consumption, age that is over 50 years old, obesity, having a job that requires sitting down for a long times.

Based on the location of your swollen vessel, your hemorrhoid can be classified into two classifications. They are external and internal hemorrhoid.

EXTERNAL HEMORRHOID

External hemorrhoid occurs when the swollen blood vessel lies under the skin near your anal canal. When irritation happens, external hemorrhoid can be very itchy as well as bleeding.

When a certain numbers of blood clot in an external hemorrhoid, it can cause what doctors called thrombus and cause you severe pain. Doctor’s help might be necessary if the rating of pain you are feeling is increasing every day. However, most hemorrhoid cases are treatable at home.

INTERNAL HEMORRHOID

In the other hand, internal hemorrhoid takes place when the inflammation lies inside your rectum. In most cases, you will not feel the pain nor can you feel the swollen blood vessel. The only sign that might appear is that you will secret fresh bright red blood.

Internal hemorrhoid usually will be healed with the right diet and converting your lifestyle to a more healthy life style.

ABOUT BLEEDING HEMORRHOID

Even though most hemorrhoid cases are treatable at home, however, looking at bloods coming out from your anus every time you make bowel movement can also be a traumatizing experience for some people and unfortunately in certain level, it is can be a sign of some more serious disease such as colorectal cancer or anus cancer so it is always good to understand the sign of hemorrhoid and how to treat them right.

For bleeding that is caused by hemorrhoid, it is usually painless bleeding and it usually happens only during your bowel movement. If you bleed in other times as well, seeking for professional medical assistance might be required.

The bleeding for internal hemorrhoid usually will not occur more than 5-7 days. If you are experiencing bleeding more than those days, you are recommended to see your doctor for further assessment.

PREVENTING AND TREATING BLEEDING HEMORRHOID

There are several ways that you can do to prevent yourself from bleeding internal hemorrhoid. However, these steps are also suitable for those who have experienced such situation so that t will not get worse.

Eating food that is high in fiber such as whole wheat based carbohydrate is an option to convert your lifestyle to a healthier one. Fruits and vegetables also recommended to soften your stool so it will not make your swollen vessel hurt during bowel movement. Consuming less alcohol is another help as well for your body to avoid bleeding hemorrhoid.

Doing some exercise can help your body especially your digastric system to process your food faster and better. This will also affect your bowel movement to be smoother so you do not have to push hard that can cause internal and external hemorrhoid.

For those who have undergone bleeding internal hemorrhoid, keeping your rectum clean is always suggested. Wash and wipe your bleeding anal canal with water and soft cloth to prevent pain or discomfort. Tissue paper is not recommended as it can causes rough contact with your hemorrhoid.
